How to decide this inbound is a new ASIN vs a content update

A seller receives a new lot and updates the live child, then shoppers get a different count than the page promised. THAT mix is two packs on one ASIN. THIS inbound carton already prints type, size or count, material, and what’s in the box, or it prints none. Digital Dignity’s Transformation Kit is the decision check: compare THIS carton to the live child, open a new ASIN when the pack changed, update content when only the wording is wrong, then free optimize, then Pro.

Same printed pack is a content update. A different printed pack is a new ASIN

Pull one sealed unit from THIS inbound. Write the four-fact pad. Open the live listing this lot was meant to refill. If type, count, or contents changed on the carton, stop updating that child. If the facts match and only the copy is guessed, rewrite that child from the pad.

How a seller decides new ASIN vs content update

  1. Name the inbound lot. Photograph THIS carton face. Write the four-fact pad: type, size or count, material, what’s in the box.
  2. Open the live child (or parent) that this inbound is supposed to match. Put the live title and bullets next to the pad. Circle every live line this carton does not print, and every pad fact the live listing does not have.
  3. If THIS carton prints a different type, count, or contents line than the live child, this inbound is a new ASIN. Create the new child from the pad. If the carton prints the same facts and only the wording is messy, this is a content update on the live child.
  4. Walk the Transformation Kit against this pad. The kit listing is the one you save, on the new child or the updated child.
  5. Run free optimize only after that listing exists. Paste the new title and bullets. The free pass does not invent a pack fact and does not decide the ASIN for you.
  6. Save the listing. If you want the paid pass after the decision is made, use Pro checkout. Paying does not turn a different pack into the old child and does not promise rank.

Keep the old child live if it still matches last week’s pack. Do not pour a different inbound onto it. When this decision is honest and the next lot is waiting, run the same compare on that carton.

Next carton-face check

When THIS pack is honest, keep the same kit path: printed facts on THIS carton, then free optimize, then Pro.
